Why it’s important to chase your dreams rather than money

The almighty dollar. The elusive fortune.

I think the Dalai Lama said it the best:

When asked what surprised him about humanity the most, the Dalai Lama replied:

“Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

I get it! I really do! We all need to make money. We have mortgage payments/rent, utilities, food, transportation, children and the list goes on and on.

Over the years I have watched family and friends go after careers that make them money but they have no passion for the job. They sacrifice all that is important in life…family, friends, happiness for money…thinking that money will make life better. Temporarily it might but long term probably not. It’s sad really.

Living your life….going to work….day in and day out…..and not enjoying what you are doing. Maybe living your life is not a true statement. Existing is probably more accurate.

” He who said he can and he who said he can’t are both right”

So when you chase your dreams you will find money will follow.

If you believe in how the Universe/God/Spirit works then you have heard the saying “if you are not grateful for what you have you will not be blessed with more”.

I totally agree! Live your life to your full potential.

Make everyday count.

Spend time with those you love.

Work hard at a job that you are passionate about.

Be your own boss.

Do what makes you happy.

Don’t listen to people that don’t get your vision.

Be a good person.

Success will follow.

Money will follow.
