My daughter is living in another Province going to University.
I miss her like crazy…
…thank goodness we end up talking on the phone every other day or so.
She called me this morning as she was on her way to work.
She was telling me about an adviser she had at the last University she attended.
That adviser told her she was “too high strung” to become an Architect…
…that she should do something less stressful with her life.
This is what else she told me this morning.
” Thankfully you and Dad always told me to go for whatever I want. Don’t let anyone stop me from pursuing my dreams & goals. If you had not taught me that I might have given up.”
How many times have people had their dreams squelched by such thoughtless words coming out of the mouth of a person that supposedly has some type of authority!
My daughter is blessed with a tremendous amount of stubbornness in all the right areas.
She knows how to choose her battles wisely but WILL NOT allow another person to dictate her life and thoughts.
She is a bit over a month away from completing her first semester at this University and…
…has a 4.0 G.P.A.
Not bad for a kid that should not be pursuing a degree in Architecture.
Plus she works 2 part time jobs, has an active social life, runs a vintage clothing business in her spare time and visits her Nana once a week…
…and she lives on her own, pays her own rent, utilities, groceries and can afford to buy a few luxuries here and there.
This is my wonderfully stubborn, beautiful, smart, caring daughter!
I want to be her when I grow up :’)))
I hope you have the most amazing day ever!
