Walt Disney said it best…
” The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”.
Are you an entrepreneur or a wantrepreneur?
Here are some ideas to help you bridge the gap of being just a dreamer to making those dreams become a reality.
* Visualize what you want
Do a vision board, mediate & concentrate on exactly what you want, write yourself a cheque for the amount of money you want to make and write in a specific a date.
* Don’t listen to the haters
There are going to be a lot of people with the “employee mentality” that will tell you that you can’t start your own business, that it’s too hard, ” don’t be silly, you can’t do that”, everything is a scam…
…turn that negativity off and stay the course.
* Be your own biggest fan
Our brains are hardwired to think negatively so don’t let that happen.
Watch motivational videos, wake up in the morning, smile and be grateful for your day…
…you know yourself better than anyone else and you know what you are capable of.
* Make goals and make them quantifiable
Just saying you want to be rich is not enough.
You need to get those goals down on paper and put specific dates on them.
Even if you don’t hit your goal you will have a timeline to follow and can restructure…
…and if you hit your goal early just think of the postive boost that will give you.
* Write down your “whys”
We all have things that will keep us on track.
Write down specific reasons as to why you want to start your own business.
Is it for the opportunity to travel more, is it because you want to be home raising your children, is it to save up for University for your children, is it because your job is not satisfying, is it to pay off your mortgage early, is it to buy a new car?
Everytime you lose sight of your goals you can reread your “whys” and focus on that.
* Manage your time
Don’t work hard, work smart.
Set up a daily calendar and time block.
This will help you to not only manage your time efficiently but can also show you where you are wasting time on non productive things.
Use the 80-20 rule. What 20% of your tasks lead to 80% of your income. Reroute your efforts into the highly productive tasks.
* Make sure you get “me” time
You must block out time just for you. We all need time to relax, recover and rejuvenate.
The most successful entrepreneurs are healthy.
Structure in healthful eating, exercise & sleep.
It doesn’t mean you have to live on salads and water. It means try to make healthy choices the majority of the time. Treat yourself as well. I LOVE chocolate and I refuse to deprive myself of something that makes me happy.
Exercise doesn’t mean 2 hours at the gym. It can be as simple as a brisk walk every other day or some other activity that your enjoy.
Massive imperfect action.
We all make mistakes. That’s because we are human.
Mistakes are learning experiences so they are very necessary.
Don’t let your fear of making mistakes paralyze you to the point of doing nothing.
* Find your passion
Find a business that resonates with you, a business that you are proud to own.
I hope you found this information useful!
Have the most awesome day ever!
